Are Appliance Warranties Worth It?

Are Appliance Warranties Worth It?

At Beko, we’re committed to manufacturing reliable, high-quality home appliances designed to make your life easier.

However, even the best appliances can experience unexpected issues from time to time, and we understand that repairs or replacements can be costly.

To give you extra support should your Beko appliance encounter a problem, we offer guarantees. We have also teamed up with Domestic & General, who can provide you with extended warranties, and Repair & Care maintenance plans.

But what is an appliance warranty? Here’s some more information about the products offered through a partnership with Domestic & General:

The Beko Guarantees Available Free Of Charge

All our freestanding appliances come with a one-year parts and labour guarantee. All of our built-in appliances and American style fridge freezers can be extended to two years, simply by registering your appliance within 90 days of purchase.

In addition, all large appliances, excluding built-in microwaves and cooker hoods, are eligible for our Beko 10-year guarantee. Large appliances (excluding built-in microwaves and cooker hoods) which were purchased from September 1st 2024 also come with a ten-year parts guarantee.

Registering your appliance for any of these guarantees is quick and simple too, as well as free. Just click here to get started and make sure you have registered your appliance within 90 days of purchase, with the guarantee period starting from the date you bought the product and not when it was registered.

You will need your appliance’s model number to register it – learn how to find this for your purchase by reading this guide.

It is important that you read through the terms and conditions of our guarantees though, to learn about:

  • The elements which are covered.
  • Details about what is not covered.
  • The fact that a guarantee is limited to the cost of repairing the product.
  • That a guarantee only applies to appliances fitted for domestic household use, unless Beko has previously agreed to the installation environment when a product is being used in a commercial or non-residential domestic household premises.
  • When repairs are expected to take place and when a charge may come your way for these repairs.
  • Instances and details about when Beko may offer a product replacement through a guarantee.
  • What happens when a 10-year parts guarantee begins.

Benefits Of Taking Out An Extended Warranty On Beko Appliances From Domestic & General

Even after your Beko appliance guarantee ends, you can stay protected against unexpected breakdowns and accidental damage by taking out extended warranty cover provided from Domestic & General.

Known as a Beko Appliance Care Policy, this covers most types of appliances that we manufacture. Here’s what’s included:

  • Accidental damage cover for your appliance.
  • Breakdowns protected after the end of the manufacturer’s guarantee.
  • Unlimited call-outs, with no surprise repair costs.
  • A replacement if it can’t be fixed, where you just pay the cost of installation.
  • Repairs made by expert engineers.
  • Support available 365 days a year.

Please take note that a Beko Appliance Care Policy does not cover the following though:

  • Cosmetic damage, such as scratches or dents, which does not affect performance.
  • Malicious damage and indirect costs.
  • Routine replacement of parts such as batteries, bulbs, or fuses.
  • Pre-existing faults (issues that existed before the policy was taken out).
  • Appliances used in a commercial setting, unless otherwise agreed.

Benefits Of Choosing A Beko Repair & Care Maintenance & Support Plan

Another way to protect your Beko appliance against unexpected faults after the parts and labour guarantee ends is by choosing a Domestic & General Repair & Care Plan.

This Repair & Care Plan gives your appliance 12 months of protection, with maintenance support and available if you are aged 18 or over, own the product, and live in the UK, Isle of Man, or Channel Islands.

We’ve partnered with Domestic & General Services Limited to offer a maintenance and support plan. With access to a network of approved engineers nationwide, you can benefit from:

  • A one-off repair (where repairable).
  • Repair appointments at a time that suits you, including across weekends.
  • Ongoing maintenance and support for your appliance after a repair.
  • A no fix no fee promise, with a full refund of any monies paid up until that point if the appliance is beyond economic repair or the expert engineer is unable to fix the initial fault.
  • The option to spread the cost of a Repair & Care Plan across bite-sized payments by monthly Direct Debit.

No matter whether you’re shopping for an innovative fridge freezer, dishwasher or washing machine, you can protect your appliance from unexpected repair costs with a Repair & Care Plan.

Make sure you register your product for its free guarantee – and when that protection ends, consider Domestic & General’s Appliance Care Policy or Repair & Care Maintenance Plan.
