Step by step: How to replace your in line fridge water filter

This is a great way of helping to maintain the quality of the water your fridge freezer dispenses. And, you’ll be able to enjoy cool and refreshing water that will stay clean, fresh and tasting its best too. You’ll know when it’s time to replace your fridge freezer’s in-line water filter when the replacement alert lights up on your display. Watch the video above to see how to replace the in-line water filter, or, follow these quick and easy steps:

  1. Turn off the ‘Ice on’ button
  2. Shut off the water supply
  3. Note the flow direction on the water filter and ensure the new filter follows the same direction
  4. Remove the water filter from the wall brackets
  5. Remove the fast-fit connectors from the top and bottom of the water filter
  6. Press down on the blue section around the water hose and pull the hose away from the water filter to release. Note: A small amount of water will come out from these connections once separated.
  7. Connect the two hose ends to the new water filter ensuring the filter is following the correct flow direction. Note: When you are inserting the hoses, you should feel them move inwards in two steps; roughly 18mm of the hose will be inserted into the water filter.
  8. Put the fast-fit connectors back on, to stop the hoses form coming out
  9. Clip the new water filter back into the wall brackets
  10. Check all the connections are tight enough
  11. Turn on the water supply. Note: Should you notice any leaks, repeat steps 4-10 again.
  12. Begin filtering through approximately 10 glasses of water to wash the filter out. Note: Do not drink this water.
