How to clean the drying sensor of your tumble dryer

How to clean the drying sensor of your tumble dryer

If your tumble dryer has drying sensors, you should make sure these are kept clean and free from lint to ensure good drying performance and avoiding extended drying times. Follow these steps to clean your drying sensor:

  1. The drying sensor bars are located behind the lint filter in the front of the door opening.
  2. Allow the machine to cool down if it is still hot from being used.
  3. Wipe the metal surfaces of the sensor bars with a soft cloth.
  4. Do not use abrasive cleaning products, you can dampen the cloth with vinegar to clean.
  5. Ensure you have dried the sensor bars with a soft cloth again before using your tumble dryer.
  6. You should aim to clean the drying sensors every three months to ensure they function effectively.
