How to unlock an induction hob

Did you know that Beko’s induction hobs feature three different types of locks? With a cleaning lock, a child lock and a key lock, our induction hobs are designed to provide a safe and efficient cooking environment. Depending on the model you own, the exact instruction on how to activate/disactivate these locks may vary. To provide a general overview, we’ve put together this handy guide to help you understand how to use the various lock features on your Beko induction hob. For more specific instructions, please refer to your appliance’s instruction manual.

Cleaning Lock

The cleaning lock prevents operation of all keys on the control panel for 20 seconds while the hob is switched on to allow the user to quickly clean the appliance. The product will not draw any power throughout this time.

Activating/Deactivating the cleaning lock:

  1. Touch and hold the cleaning lock key until a single signal sound is heard when any cooking zone is switched on.
  2. A countdown will begin from 20 on the time display of the hob. None of the keys on the panel will function except the on/off key.
  3. You do not have to press any key to deactivate the cleaning lock. The hob will give an audio signal after 20 second and the cleaning lock will automatically be deactivated.
  4. If you want to deactivate the cleaning lock earlier, touch and hold the cleaning lock key until touch signal sounds are heard.

Child Lock

When the cooking zones are switched off, the child lock can be activated to prevent children from switching on the cooking zones. You can only activate or deactivate the child lock when the cooking zone are switched off and in standby mode.

Activating/Deactivating the child lock:

  1. To activate the child lock, touch and hold the cleaning lock key and the stop and go key simultaneously until a single signal sound is heard.
  2. Once the above step is complete, the child lock function will be activated, and an ‘L’ will be displayed on the cooking zone display. The decimal point above the lock key will be displayed.
  3. To disactivate the child lock, touch and hold the cleaning lock key and the stop and go key simultaneously until two signal sounds are heard.
  4. When the child lock function is deactivated, an ‘L’ will blink on the cooking zone display and the decimal point above the lock key will disappear.

Key Lock

You can activate the key lock to prevent the hob functions from being changed accidentally whilst the appliance is operating.

Activating/Deactivating the key lock:

  1. Touch and hold the cleaning lock key and the stop and go key simultaneously until a single signal sound is heard. The key lock will now be activated and the decimal point above the lock key will be displayed.
  2. You can only activate the key lock in operation mode. Only the on/off button will be functional when the key lock is active. If you switch the hob off when the keys are locked you must deactivate the key lock in order to be able to switch the hob on again.
  3. To deactivate the key lock, touch and hold the cleaning lock key and the stop and go key simultaneously until two signal sounds are heard. An ‘L’ will blink on the cooking zone display and the decimal point above the lock key will disappear.
