An induction hob works similarly to an electric hob, but it has coils beneath its surface that induce electrical current to generate heat. It uses less power and remains cold until you place a pan on it so less energy is used than other types of electric hobs. An electric hob comes in few different forms, solid plate and ceramic. A ceramic hob refers to the finish of the hob rather than the workings of the hob itself. The stylish, streamlined ceramic glass makes for easy use and cleaning due to its wipe-clean fascia. An electric solid hob has black sealed plates and heats and cools slowly. It typically consists of four-ring electric plates, we would recommend to only use pots and pans with a flat base, this allows for the most efficient heat transfer from the solid plate to the pan.
