How do I clean the oven on my cooker?

Cleaning your oven is the best way to keep your appliance working at maximum efficiency, whilst also maintaining high levels of hygiene. Whilst there are professional oven cleaning services available, cleaning your oven yourself is a relatively simple task.

Please note, when cleaning your oven, it is important to wear protective clothing and gloves to prevent accidents and injuries.

Cleaning Your Oven

To clean the inside of your oven, follow the below instructions:

  1. Firstly, remove the side racks by pulling the front section outwards.
  2. Using warm water, washing up liquid, and a soft cloth or sponge, clean the appliance’s interior.
  3. The most effective method of cleaning will vary depending on your oven’s interior. If the inside of your oven has an enamelled interior, the most effective cleaning method is a damp cloth while the oven is still warm.
  4. For tougher stains, a suitable oven cleaner can be used. Before using any oven cleaners, it is important to make sure the oven cleaner used is suitable for your oven’s interior. For more information relating to your oven’s interior, please download your manual here.
  5. If your oven has catalytic liners, they should not be cleaned. To remove any built-up deposits simply remove all oven trays and set the temperature to 240°C for one hour. If your oven features our SimplySteam™ cleaning technology, please read our dedicated FAQ that explains how to use SimplySteam™.
