How to clean an oven?

Cleaning your oven is the best way to keep your appliance clean, hygienic and ready for use. While some people prefer to get their ovens cleaned professionally, cleaning your oven yourself is a great way to save money and is actually a quick, hassle-free process.

When deeply cleaning your oven, it is important to clean both the appliance’s interior and exterior.

To clean the inside of your oven, follow the below instructions:

  1. Remove the side racks by pulling the front section outwards.
  2. Using warm water, washing up liquid, and a soft cloth or sponge, clean the appliance’s interior.
  3. If the inside of your oven has an enamelled interior, the most effective cleaning method is a damp cloth while the oven is still warm. Oven cleaning agents suitable for enamel can also be used if required.
  4. If your oven has catalytic liners, they should not be cleaned. To remove any built-up deposits simply remove all oven trays and set the temperature to 240°C for one hour.

If you aren't sure what type of interior your oven has, please refer to your instruction manual. Can't find it, don't worry you can download your manual here.

To clean your oven’s exterior, please follow the below steps:

  1. Clean the exterior of your oven using a damp cloth.
  2. Wipe dry with a clean and dry cloth
  3. Please note: when cleaning your oven’s control panel, do not attempt to remove the control knobs and buttons as this may damage your appliance.
